With trust in God, determination, skill and strength, you fought hard to complete your military basic training with Delta Company 31st Engineer Battalion. Though faced with periodic problems of material shortages and changes in scopes of work, Company Bs engineers continued dedicated work on the MER eventually constructing 334 WABTOC structures for our allies. The battalion departed Fort Bliss, Texas for overseas service and arrived at Vung Tau, Vietnam on 24 March 1968. In June 1993, Alpha Company was redesignated E/35th; Bravo and Charlie Companies turned provisional and fell under the control of the 35th Engineer Battalion on 1 October 1993. From January to March 1991, the battalion began preparing Soldiers for Operation Desert Storm, and supported the mobilization of the 1st Battalion, 392nd Regiment, 98th Division (Training) based in New York State.
